The Holy Spirit

How did everyone do with my little challenge from last week? What I was looking for, and hoped you obtained, is the presence of The Holy Spirit in your Bible reading.

Before I ask you if you experienced “another presence” when you read, let me share with you a quick email that was sent to me from one of our “online” readers in Gainesville, FL

The Holy Trinity

We have all heard about “The Holy Trinity” in the past but does anyone truly understand what it means?” Here is a pretty simple explanation I found from an organization (https://www.everystudent.com) that makes a good effort to explain the mysteries of life and God in simple fashion.

“You and I live in a three-dimensional world. All physical objects have a certain height, width, and depth. One person can look like someone else, or behave like someone else, or even sound like someone else. But a person cannot actually be the same as another person. They are distinct individuals.

God, however, lives without the limitations of a three-dimensional universe. He is spirit. And he is infinitely more complex than we are.

That is why Jesus the Son can be different from the Father… and, yet the same.

The Bible clearly speaks of: God the Son, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit. But emphasizes that there is only ONE God.

If we were to use math, it would not be, 1+1+1=3. It would be 1x1x1=1. God is a triune God.”

What does this tell you? It tells me that the Holy Trinity consists of the following: God the Father; God the Son; and God the Holy Spirit. All being one person: GOD!

Help During Prayer

Remember last week when I asked you to pray before reading your Bible:

Romans 8:26 – “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”

Know that the Holy Spirit will help you, just He did Kathy D. I hope you understand this and will seek His presence the next time you read your Bible.

Guidance

When we need help. We’re feeling lost, off the path we’re meant to travel but desperately trying to find our way.

John 16:13 – “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.”

The Holy Spirit is our present-day guide on this earth. Not only does He guide us in learning the truth of the scriptures, but He guides us on the application of those truths in our journey.

Fills Us with Boldness

When we are faced with challenges, pray… and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with boldness.

Acts 4:31 – “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”

When we are faced with trials and persecution, the Holy Spirit fills us with Himself and gives us boldness to confront what we are up against.

Inner Strength

Now we’ve got the boldness, but we’ll need strength to conquer these challenges. Herein, the Apostle Paul tells us…

Ephesians 3:16 “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.”

When your faith is lagging, or you are just worn out spiritually, the Holy Spirit is the one that will give you inner strength.

Lives Within Us

Once we have believed and truly understand what it means to be a child of God and Brother and Sister to Christ and the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 3:16 – “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?”

The Holy Spirit not only dwells in the church but He resides inside of every born-again Christian.

We Belong to God

Ephesians 1:13 – “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.”

The Holy Spirit is the evidence that you have been identified as God’s own. When you have the Holy Spirit in your life, it shows beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you are Gods child.

He Reveals Truth

I don’t know about you but one of the biggest things I seek in this world of lies, deception, selfishness and over-bearing self-pride… I look for the truth. The Holy Spirit provides this to us and reassures us of our own wisdom!

1 Corinthians 2:6-10 – “We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written:

‘What no eye has seen,
    what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived’—
    the things God has prepared for those who love him—

These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.”

There are things about God that seem to be mysterious. The Holy Spirit shows to us why God does some of the things He does.

In Conclusion

We all know God. We know of His great Wisdom, Power, Compassion and Mercy. We believe in Jesus Christ, and follow Him, as He has taught us many lessons on the ways of the Father and sacrificed His own life to save us from ourselves… and continues to do so throughout our lives on earth.

Now, I hope you know and understand the power of the last-mentioned piece of the Holy Trinity… now, we have been introduced to The Holy Spirit!

Welcome Him too into your lives; into your hearts; and into your daily prayers as He is there to provide us all things promised by our Father in Heaven.

Know also, Jesus had warned us in Matthew 12:31-32 – “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.”

This is all-important to remember as we clearly know now, The Holy Spirit is the very Essence of God!

  • When you’re feeling lost – Know that He will provide you a path!
  • When you’re feeling sad, or alone – Know that He will fill you with His presence and remove your sadness and make you realize you are NOT alone… He is always with you!
  • When you’re facing challenges – Seek His strength; seek His wisdom and He, will provide it.
  • When you feel that inspiration – Know that it is Him and you are Loved!

Go with God; be good to one another; always stay humble; always be kind… God Bless (Amen)!
